“The Prophet of Yonwood” by Jeanne DuPrau

“The Prophet of Yonwood” by Jeanne DuPrau, is an excellent prequel to her Books of Ember series. It explains the events leading up to the world disaster that the underground city of Ember was designed to withstand.

The main character is eleven year old Nickie. When Nickie’s family moves to a large mansion the country city of Yonwood, she hopes that here they can finally escape the atmosphere of the large cities where people fear an impending war. But soon Nickie finds that even in Yonwood, people are afraid, for one of the local women has had a “vision” of fiery destruction.

This is a fantastic series, I recommend it to everyone I meet, haha. Have you heard about the movie yet? Walden Media and Fox are releasing the City of Ember on October 10th of this year! I can't wait to see the action/adventure come to life, especially with Bill Murray playing the villainous Mayor Cole! I'm also an official ambassador for City of Ember, and we have a few exclusive, first-look pictures that I think you'd really like.
Would love to share them with you and have you involved in spreading the word about City of Ember as much as possible!

I hope posting on your blog did not overstep any bounds.

Look forward to talking with you soon!

Best,
