“First Light,” by Rebecca Stead is a debut novel that left me highly impressed.The science fiction story has two main characters whose enthralling story will pull the reader through 328 pages of mystery, and action.
For Peter the opportunity to travel to Greenland with his parents is a dream come true. Not only will he get to skip school for six weeks, but now he finally has a chance to share in the adventures that his father experiences day to day in his job as a scientist that studies glaciers and global warming. But once he and his parents arrive in Greenland, Peter starts to get the uncomfortable feeling that perhaps his parents had a hidden agenda in their trip.

ReplyDeleteI loved this book, but i never under stood what the red DNA looking ring on the cover represents.
ReplyDeleteIt represents the red ring in the book that marks the entrance to the underground world of the ice people. It also represents their improved genetics that give them special powers.
ReplyDeleteWell, I just started reading First Light, and it seems pretty good so far. I'm on page 29, AKA, Chapter 3, which starts talking about Thea!!! She seems pretty weird. Ha Ha. I'm hoping to finish it soon. ( Will Reply When I'm Done!!! )
