Gwen is a seventeen year old music student who will soon audition at some of New York's most elite music schools. Her future in music will be determined within the next few weeks. Then her grandfather suddenly disappears, leaving her with a note that merely says he has gone away, and that she is not to tell anyone.
Although she is concerned about her grandfather she is helped when she meets Robert, first introduced as Bobby in “Things Not Seen.” Robert helps Gwen to keep her grandfather's disappearance from becoming known, but all around them strange events seem to be mounting toward some mysterious climax. When everything comes to its finish Gwen will discover just how much her grandfather loved her.
“Things Hoped For” differs slightly in style from “Things Not Seen.” While “Things Not Seen” was more of a science fiction novel, “Things Hoped For” is more of a mystery. In addition “Things Hoped For” shows a different side of invisibility than “Things Not Seen.” Andrew Clements' writing style, however, is still spotless, his characters still wonderful, and his plot still attention grabbing.

Thank you for commenting.
from what i could tell i only read 12 chapters of things not seen. i read the comment, and it was extremly good ratings and i have enjoyed the book so far. Things hoped for sounds less appealing then things not seen by the comments. but i tthink anyone would enjoy both and all of andrew clement's works
All of Andrew Clement's books are very high-quality and excellent for young readers. He writes books specifically for school age children.
I love this book, but you need to read Things not seen first to get the twists and turns in this book. Have fun reading it!!!
You are absolutely right. I forgot to include a link back to my review of "Things Not Seen." I hope that there is going to be third book in the series.
NathanKP, just out of curiosity, is "Things Hoped For" better than "Things Not Seen" or the other way around?
In my opinion "Things Not Seen" is considerably better. The plot in "Things Hoped For" is not quite as exciting, but it does have a more moving conclusion.
i loved this not seen
I assume you mean "Things Not Seen?" I'm glad that you loved it.
i loved reading Things Not Seen as well as Things Hoped For. but u should really consider reading Things Not Seen before u read this one. because don't they mention, Bobby and Alica a lot? i'd imagine it'd be difficult to understand if u hadn't read Things Not Seen first.
You are very correct. If you read "Things Hoped For" without reading "Things Not Seen" you will find it very hard to understand some parts.
